Warid has today launched its public beta testing for 3G services in various regions of Pakistan. Where anyone with a Warid SIM can now use 3G services. After successful public beta release Warid has now become the 5th operator to provide 3G services in Pakistan.
As of now we can confirm that Warid customers living in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi can use 3G services. After the successful Mobilink and Warid merger both companies are now taking benefits from each other technologies. It is worth mentioning here that Mobilink is already testing 4G LTE in some parts of the country. And anyone with a Mobilink connection can go to company owned service centers to obtain a 4G LTE compatible SIM.
One of the Warid representative told Localistan Times that no free trial is being given to test the 3G service on Warid network. Infact customers who are using 3G services will be charged as per their subscribed data bundle or their stock data plan. Warid will only provide 1GB of free data for a week to new customers who have activated 4G for the first time.
Warid 3G service will only work with smartphones compatible with 2100Mhz for 3G. Most of the smartphones available in Pakistan already have this 3G frequency compatibility but you have to double check the desired frequency before buying any phone.
